讲座时间：2024年5月21日（星期二）下午15:30—17:00 讲座地点：外国语学院崇远楼210室 Room 210, Chongyuan Building 讲座题目：囚掳叙事与美国种族话语建构 Captivity Narratives and the Construction of American Racial Discourse   讲座专家：金莉教授   讲座内容简介： 作为北美本土的流行文学体裁，囚掳叙事描述了北美大陆白人定居者被印第安人俘虏的经历。从17世纪末囚掳叙事出现直至19世纪末，囚掳叙事经历了漫长的历史演变过程，也承载了不同的历史意义。这种文学体裁对于北美殖民地的意识形态建构起到了重要作用，成为美国领土扩张的文本辩护及文明的白人殖民者与嗜血的印第安野蛮人的二元对立话语的助推者。囚掳叙事展现了白人殖民者如何看待自己和自己的文化，以及如何建构“他者”，业已成为美国历史遗产和边疆神话的重要组成部分。   As a popular literary genre native to North America, captivity narratives describe the experiences of white settlers on the North American continent who were captured by Native Americans. From their emergence in the late 17th century to the end of the 19th century, captivity narratives underwent a long process of historical evolution and carried various historical significances. This literary genre played an important role in the ideological construction of the North American colonies, serving as a textual justification for American territorial expansion and promoting the binary opposition discourse of civilized white colonizers versus bloodthirsty Indian savages. Captivity narratives illustrated how white colonizers viewed themselves and their culture, as well as how they constructed the “other,” and have become a significant part of American historical heritage and frontier mythology.   金莉教授简介： 北京外国语大学冠名讲席教授、博导，主要研究领域为美国女性文学、美国小说。曾任北外英语学院院长和北京外国语大学副校长。目前担任北外王佐良外国文学高等研究院院长和《外国文学》杂志主编。曾任第六、七届国务院学位委员会外语学科评议组召集人。   欢迎广大师生积极参加！
